Volunteer Program

We Can Help.

Who We Are
Trinity Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary began with the hospital in 1985. They came together to provide assistance to the hospital staff in caring for the needs of our patients. They are a public charity according to section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to the Auxiliary are deductible under section 170 of the Code.

How We Work
Membership is open to those who are interested in community health and welfare of Trinity Medical Center patients. Volunteers are required to serve a minimum of four hours per week for a period of no less than six months. The volunteers are self-supported by commission from vending machines, gift shop rental and fundraising events. The Executive Board members are elected and consist of a President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. A regular newsletter keeps members informed of Auxiliary and hospital happenings.

People We Serve
Our volunteers provide many valuable services for patients, families, and the hospital departments and staff. They man our information desk, assist with delivering mail, flowers, newspapers, delivering reports and x-rays, making phone calls and writing or mailing letters.
We also have volunteers in virtually every department in the hospital. We would be lost without them! If you are interested in joining our volunteer program, please contact the Volunteer Department at (972) 394-2411 for more information on becoming part of the family.

1. The Scholarship Program was started in 1999 to provide students with an interest in furthering their education in the medical field. Applications are available at the Information Desk and are awarded at the school's end-of-year award ceremony. There are six $1,000 scholarships available for the students in the Carrollton area who meet the criteria for the award. For more information, contact your school counselor or the volunteers and the scholarship committee chairperson.

2. The "We Care" Program was created to give patients at Trinity Medical Center a helping hand when needed. We provide various items of clothing to victims of assault, prescriptions on a one-time basis for children whose parents are financially unable to purchase, "memory boxes" for parents who lost a child during pregnancy and we provide a pediatric package to help ease the tension of the children who spend time in the hospital. Daily patient room visits are made to offer personal essentials that may have been forgotten from home. Stickers, coloring books and stuffed animals are available for children who need attention in the lab, radiology or who have day surgery.
